SOLID WASTE: Today and tomorrow, residential and commercial trash, yard waste and recycling pick up is operating as normal. The city will suspend residential and commercial garbage, recycling and yard waste pick up starting Wednesday at 12 p.m., this depends on the operations of the Orange County Landfill and weather conditions. Following Hurricane Milton, depending on weather and road conditions, the city will work to pick up missed garbage and yard waste. We will continue to provide updates throughout the storm on garbage, yard and recycling schedules. PRE-STORM PREPARATION - YARD DEBRIS: Help us prevent flooding by removing tree trimmings or any type of loose waste or yard debris from the curb. During a severe weather event, these items can clog storm drains which may result in flooding of property and/or the street. Residents should secure any yard waste or debris that has not been picked up by Wednesday morning. Follow these tips in securing your yard:
STREETS AND STORMWATER: In preparation for impacts to the Orlando area as a result of Hurricane Milton, City of Orlando crews are checking inlets, lake outfalls, and drainage well intakes, as well as inspecting construction sites to ensure inlets are not blocked. Lakes have been lowered to the lowest possible level. PARKING GARAGE FEES WAIVED: The city will waive parking fees for the following parking garages beginning at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9, for any resident who would like to park a car in a covered garage.
All cars should be removed by 12 p.m. Friday, October. 11, dependent on weather and road conditions. CITY OPERATIONS: The City of Orlando’s non-essential offices and services, including City Hall, will be closed on Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10. Recreation Center Closures: All City of Orlando neighborhood and recreation centers and pools will be closed Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10. Additionally, all sports and event activities at our centers, parks and recreation facilities have been cancelled on Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10. HELPING THE HOMELESS: Persons experiencing homelessness in Central Florida are most vulnerable to the impact of a major hurricane. The Homeless Services Network is working with the homeless shelters in our area who will add service beyond their typical capacity to serve homeless individuals who are seeking refuge during Hurricane Milton. The city’s Downtown Ambassadors and HOPE Team Outreach partners are out today on the streets providing weather information and directing people to shelters and will continue these efforts as long as it is safe to do so. Hello Laureate Park Residents,
As Hurricane Milton approaches Florida, the HOA remains committed to the safety of our residents and their families. Please remove all items from your exterior areas, including trash bins, plants, chairs, tables, grills, recreational equipment, landscape debris, project materials, outdoor decorations, etc. These items can be dangerous flying objects in the event of high winds. The HOA has requested the builders of new construction homes to secure and/or remove their materials in advance of the upcoming storm. This includes emptying their dumpsters, removing all loose debris and tools, securing or removing the portable bathrooms, clearing any gutter socks near the home site, etc. Please do not throw your personal trash/debris in or around builder dumpsters. The landscape and HOA team will be onsite, after the storm, to assess the community. If you see damage to the community common areas, or your attached unit landscape, please take a photo and email them to the HOA at [email protected]. We will work as quickly as possible to get these issues addressed. If you are in an attached unit and need to have your roof inspected and/or repaired due to Hurricane Milton, please take a photo, and email them to the HOA at [email protected]. Please understand the roof vendor will assess the roofs when it is safe to do so and when they are available to come out to the community. Depending on the assessment, roofs may need to have an insurance claim submitted and the roof replaced. The vendor will tarp any roofs that may need to be covered. Please keep in mind that materials could be delayed due to the storm. This will take time so please be patient. LP Aquatic LP Aquatic will be closed October 8th and re-open, if conditions allow, on October 11th. LP Fit LP Fit will be closed October 9th and re-open, if conditions allow, on October 11th. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your HOA team at [email protected] or at 407-705-2190 x266. Thank you, Laureate Park Master Association Inc. |
