Hurricane Irma Recovery Efforts from Laureate Park Master Association

9/15/2017

As Hurricane Irma has left the area, the HOA, in cooperation with Tavistock, has turned its attention to storm recovery around the community.  We’re sure many of you are interested in the progress, and the HOA wants to share a status update as to where we are with our efforts:

Landscaping
  • District and HOA landscape contractor, BrightView, has several crews working on all major District roadways (i.e. Tavistock Lakes Blvd.) that experienced the heaviest amount of downed trees and debris to clean up and re-set/straighten all trees that can be salvaged.
    • The priority has been to clear roadway and walking pathways to resume normal use and traffic
  • Additional crews will be dispersed throughout the community to address all other areas (parks, mews, and attached unit homes) for any clean-up and tree straightening needs that are present.
**Note: any items deemed unsalvageable and/or discarded will be replaced as quickly as possible once normal conditions and services are reached.

Street Signage
  • A repair crew has already been dispersed and is working to address the immediate replacement of all street name signs that were knocked down throughout the community.
  • An additional effort will be conducted to provide a comprehensive repair and replacement service throughout the entire community for any signs that are leaning and/or were damaged and need to be replaced
 General Community Appearance
  • Communication was submitted to all builders to have an initial street cleanup service conducted to address any and all areas that received excessive deposits and runoff from any empty or active builder lots.
  • HOA is actively reporting damaged street light poles to OUC
  • A crew will also be dispersed throughout all areas of the community to conduct a general trash/debris collection for any items that may have been dispersed during the storm
  • All items secured and stored for the storm have, or are being quickly put back into place, such as:
    • Playground equipment
    • Aquatic Center furniture
 Attached Unit Repairs
  • Exterior damages were realized as a result of the storm to various dwelling components, such as roofs, soffits, fascia, trim and lighting
    • Association staff has already compiled a list of reviewed and reported damages submitted for insurance claims, as well as acting on behalf of unit owners to obtain contractors, pricing, etc. necessary to effect repairs and make units whole.  Additional communication will be sent directly to all attached unit homeowners as to the process and expectations already in place to address these issues.
Yard Waste
The City of Orlando has advised that due to the large amount of landscape/yard waste to be cleared and removed, they could experience a 30-60 day backlog as they work through the City.  The HOA would like to offer to all Laureate Park residents who have landscape debris the ability to drop it off for pick-up at the HOA’s designated debris site, where it can be hauled out by our contractor.  Please keep in mind that this is only available for landscape debris – any large household trash will not be accepted.  The site is located on Laureate Boulevard (please see map below):

The HOA would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we work to bring the community back to normal.  If you would like to make a report on any items you may have noticed that we have not already listed, you may respond directly to this notice, you may use the
HOACustomerService@fishkind.com email or you may use the Contact Form on our HOA website:  http://www.laureateparkhoa.com/hoa-request-form.html.

Thank you!
